KäTu2023: Translation/Interpreting and Sustainability

University of Turku, 13-15 April 2023 (deadline 20.January 2023)

The theme of the 2023 KäTu Symposium is Translation/Interpreting and Sustainability. Through this theme, we wish to respond to the urgency of the concept of sustainable development, and promote the viewpoint of sustainability (ecological, social and economical) as an integral part of all human behavior. Needless to say, sustainable development, defined by the United Nations as “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs,” (The Sustainable Development Agenda, FAQ) make great demands also on translation, both in the sense of product and process.
